About My Camera

My Camera

Canon EOS DSLR 550D

The highest ISO setting is 6400 and the lowest is 100
ISO stands for International Organisation for Standardisation
The slowest shutter speed that my camera has is the BULB setting and the fastest shutter speed that is has is 1/4000
The sensor size is 18MP
& the sensor size is 22.3x14, full frame is an advantage  because without full frame the image overlaps the sensor and as a result some of the photo is cut off.
My two lens focal length is 18-55mm and 75-300mm
& they both have a minimum aperture of 4 and the 18-55mm highest exposure is 25 and the 75-300mm highest aperture is 32.
To Change and adjust the aperture you press the av button and turn the dial to adjust the f stop.
The two main file formats on my camera is RAW and JPEG, in the JPEG section you can choose between high, medium and low quality.
The Flash synchronisation is between 1/200 and 30seconds
My exposure compensation control can be used by pressing the av button and turning the dial.
The exposure modes on my camera can be classified into image zone and creative zone.
There is also Movie- which enables recording of digital movies. There is also Creative Auto- which gives the viewer control over focus, exposure and colour.

Image Zone:
Full Auto-Completely auto photography where the camera chooses all the settings for the shot
Portrait- softy focused background
Landscape- it keeps both near and objects in focus
Close up- produces softy focused backgrounds
Sports- fast shutter speed to capture objects
No flash- same as auto but without flash
Night portrait-combines flash with slow shutter speed to produce softer light and a brighter back ground.

Creative Zone:
Program AE- camera sets the shutter speed and aperture
Shutter priority- camera sets the shutter speed
Aperture priority- camera selects the correct aperture
Auto Depth of Field- camera selects f-stop needed to keep all subjects in focus.

Manual-  user has full creative control over all the settings.
